Is there an age limit?

There are no strict upper age limits. It is important to note that to fulfill a diagnosis of ADHD there needs to be proof of a lifelong pattern of symptoms.

Can I be assessed if I'm already on ADHD medication prescribed elsewhere?

Yes, we are happy to take over your care if you have an existing diagnosis of ADHD. We will require copies of previous ADHD report and evidence of recent prescriptions.

How much does an assessment cost?

Adults assessments are priced at £949. Follow up consultations vary according to appointment type and length of consultation. Please refer to our services and fees page. Appointments are to be paid at the time of booking.

Is the assessment covered by health insurance?

No we are not covered by heath insurance. However, psychology appointments may be covered but you will need to check details with your specific provider.

Yes. All assessments are delivered via secure video consultation.

Can I use a mobile or tablet for the video call, or do I need a laptop?

Yes you can use a tablet or mobile for the video call or a laptop if you prefer.

What do I need to prepare before my assessment?

It is important that we collect as much relevant information as possible before your consultation with our doctors. You will be sent questionnaires that you will need to fill out. You will also need to find a relative or someone who has known you ideally since childhood to fill out an additional observer questionnaire. We recommed you complete these questionnaires well in advance of your appointment and put aside a couple of hours of time for this.

Do you follow NICE guidance?

Yes. Assessments align with NICE guidance, including full clinical history and consideration of co-existing conditions.

Is this an NHS-recognised ADHD assessment?

Assessments are conducted in line with NICE guidance by qualified clinicians. Acceptance of private reports by NHS services or GP practices is at their discretion.

What does the assessment report include?

An ADHD assessment is a detailed, evidence-based report that not only confirms whether you have ADHD, but explains how it affects you and provides clear recommendations for treatment, work, and study support.

How long does it take to receive the report after my assessment?

We aim to complete the written report within 7 working days.

Can my GP accept the report?

Many GPs accept clearly documented private ADHD reports, though this cannot be guaranteed.

Yes the report can be used for both work place adjustments and university support.

What happens if I am diagnosed with ADHD?

If a diagnosis of ADHD is confirmed, we can: discuss evidence-based treatment options; provide guidance on medication and non-medication approaches; and advise on shared care arrangements where appropriate. We do not recommend treatment unless it is clinically indicated and in line with best practice.

Medication is not automatically prescribed. Treatment decisions are based on clinical need and suitability.

Are there any follow-up costs after the assessment?

If you are simply after an ADHD assessment there are no follow ups required. If you would like to trial medication we typically need to see you for a 45 mins medication initiation consultation and we then need to see you at regular monthly intervals for 30 mins appointments until you are stable and medication has been optimised. Each client is unique but the number of appointments to achieve a stable medication regime in ADHD is often in the order of 3-6. Letters requiring GP time are chargeable. There is also a monthly prescription charge. Most ADHD medications are controlled drugs which means we can only legally issue you with 1 month's supply at a time.

What if ADHD is not diagnosed?

ADHD in adults often overlaps with anxiety, low mood, chronic stress, or physical health concerns. We take time to understand the full picture, not just symptoms in isolation. Where criteria are not met, this is explained clearly, along with guidance on alternative explanations and appropriate next steps.
