I’m Dr Leon Barron, a local GP living and working in North Leeds. My wife Rachel and I moved to Alwoodley in 2024 to be closer to our extended family, and we’ve quickly settled into life here with our two energetic sons. We spend weekends walking, cycling, and exploring the Yorkshire Dales, and enjoy cooking together at home.
My local connection shapes how I practise – community, family, and continuity are what’s important to me. I understand the realities of family life and the value of having a GP who knows you, listens, and provides care you can trust. My goal is always to provide compassionate, holistic, and thorough patient-centred care – with a focus on treating you as a whole person, not just a collection of symptoms.
Before founding High Ash Health, I trained at Barts and The Royal London Medical School and completed further experience across hospital specialties and private practice in London and Hertfordshire.
Alongside my NHS work, I now provide private GP services for families and individuals across North Leeds, and I have a special interests in mental health, menopause management, and complex, multi-symptom conditions.
My GP practice – High Ash Health – has grown from my commitment to the community I live in.
Alwoodley is home for my family too, and my work here is personal – I live here, raise my family here, and care deeply about the people who make this place home.
